Plan 2 Protect Requirements

If you plan on volunteering or staffing at camp wapiti please read the following, the reference tab, and your corresponding staff or volunteer tab!

Steps to applying to volunteer or staff:

1. Fill out application (see buttons above)

2. Wait for a response from Camp Wapiti Board or Staff. 

3. Upon approval – Plan to Protect requirements – Criminal Record Check, Child Intervention Check, complete the P2P presentation and assessment. 

Please provide 3 references who have known you for at least 2 years and are over 18 years old.

1. Pastoral – a minister or church leader

2. Leadership – Teacher, Supervisor, Employer, Boss, etc.

3. Friend or family

Volunteer Oppurtunity Descriptions!!!

Role Rough Volunteer Job Description
Breakfast Cook Helpers
  • assist in breakfast meal prep.
Camp Grandparents
  • be present to interact with cabins, maybe even teach a skill like widdling.
Camp Runners
  • Available at various times throughout the camp week to shop for things as needed and bring them to camp. 
Childcare Helper
  • Babysits the staff or volunteers’ children as needed.

Craft Shack

(Max 2 helpers per camp)
  •  assist campers in crafting!

Dining Hall 

Max 3 per camp)
  • Min. age: 12  –
  • Set tables for meals, prep for dishes, do mugs up and some clean-up duties. 
First Aid (Min. STD First aid & level ‘C’ CPR)
  • Willing to stay out at the camp and are available at all times in case of medical needs.
  • Hand out medications and attend minor medical needs.
  • collaborate with the director or select others on more serious medical needs.

Kitchen Help

(Min. 3 per camp)
  • assist the head cook with all meals and preparations. 
Maintenance/Grounds
  • Work on fixing or new tasks as decided by the director or board.
  • Requires ability to work independently and some handyman skills. 
Nature Leader
  • Available to cabins during gang time to do nature activities 
  • Occasionally share nature tidbits at campfire times. 
Photographer/Videographer
  • Is available throughout the week to take photos/videos for the camp! Specifically making time to try and be there for big activities and on a Monday or Thursday to take cabin photos as well as a camp-wide photo!
Speaker
  • Gives the Bible lessons in the chapel and reflective or shorter sessions at campfires. Is available throughout the days to be there in case campers have questions.

  • lead and display a Christ-like attitude in all areas of their life.

Assistant/ Program Director

  • May – August

  • assist the Director
  • planning and preparing camp program

  • Assist in menu planning
  • Lead and direct kitchen crew in preparing meals for campers and staff.
