Every Summer we need about a dozen paid staff, and well over 100 volunteers to make Camp Wapiti run smoothly. You could be one of them! Applications are accepted every year starting in January!

RETURNING Volunteer Applications  

We ask that everyone fill out an application whether you are applying for a Volunteer role (Jr Counselor, Kitchen/Dining Hall) or a Paid Position (Sr Counselor, Head Cook).  All Volunteers must meet requirements for our Plan to Protect Policy, including submitting to an RCMP background check and an Alberta Intervention Check (anyone over 18 yrs).


        Senior High – July 6-10

         Junior High – July 12-17

         Elementary #1 – July 19-24

         Family Camp – August 2-7

         Elementary #2 – Aug 9-14



Director, 2 Assistant Directors, 8 Senior counselors (4 female and 4 male) and Head Cook  Please submit a staff application and feel free to include a resume and cover letter.  Applications for these positions are accepted after Jan. 1 each year.  The directors will be hired by March 1 and counselors in April and continue until all spots are filled.  Directors generally work May-Aug and counselors start in late June and work through until the last camp ends in mid August

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS: call 780-532-2823 with questions

camp speakers You will prepare and teach a Bible lesson to the campers each morning during chapel time ,  you can come out for the morning, the day or live out at camp all week.  Each Bible teacher has different availability and we can accommodate you.

cooks helpers, breakfast cooks Time commitment is up to you.  You may work the full week or just a shift on a single day. We will accommodate your time availability

dining hall staff You and a partner will set tables, keep the dining hall clean and ready for meals, supervise the dish crew etc…might include some pot washing too.

grounds and maintenance person Hauling water, starting a campfire, cutting firewood, fixing a door knob are some examples of the things you might find yourself doing.

nature leader A love for nature is all the prerequisite required. We provide you with materials and info, you just help the campers find answers and guide various activities we have for them.

craft shack leader We have fully stocked craft shack. You will help kids brainstorm craft ideas and help them find supplies and then ensure that the shack is tidied up at the days end.  This can be a full week commitment or just come out for the afternoons

first aid person/camp nurse You must have current first aid and be prepared to apply lots of bandaids, You may find yourself talking with campers who need extra attention.

camp runner You will shop for and bring out items needed during the week of camp.

camp grandparents If you love kids this is your opportunity to be grandparent to up to 64 children for the week, loving kids as only a grandparent can.

camp sitters Enjoy a weekend of camping at Camp Wapiti between our scheduled camps and in doing so provide a presence on the property for security of the property.
